North & South Barns

Two old agricultural structures stitched together in the late 1800s have been carefully amalgamated to provide spectacular living accommodation in two separate properties.

The redundant structures were used for storage and were deteriorating rapidly when our client saw them advertised for sale. Pocknell Studio had achieved planning permission previously and were approached to continue the work. The project took 15 months start to finish and was completed in 2017.

The buildings have three and four bedrooms respectively, and some full-height spaces as a reminder of the stature of these graceful farm structures. Landscape was also part of the brief and although augmented by the present owners it sets the fine structures in a new and sympathetic environment.
